We deliver our promise of “Smarter technology for all” through three brand personality traits: purposeful, unexpected and brave.
Purposeful
How we communicate
“Purposeful” means we have an intention for everything we do. Each experience has a core idea that, when summed up, answers the question, “How does this support our vision of a world with smarter technology for all?”
At Lenovo, purposeful refers to:
- Clear ideas
- Inspiration from customer insight
- Ease of use
- Quality materials and production

Lenovo Neptune™
Traditional air-cooled data centers faced issues such as high energy consumption for cooling and the need for sprawling layouts to manage heat. How do we solve that? Lenovo Neptune purposefully uses warm water to cool servers, decreasing operational costs, driving better performance and being sustainable by using less energy. For over a decade, it has been a leader in liquid cooling and has been implemented in some of the biggest data centers in the world. Now that’s cool.
Lenovo Libras project
Lenovo’s Libras Project empowers millions in Brazil, bridging the communication gap for the deaf and hard of hearing. Our Brazil team and the Product Diversity Office (PDO) have dedicated countless hours to training AI in sign language with computer vision, which now interprets and translates Brazilian sign language in real-time, inspiring inclusive technology and truly opening new doors for more than 430 million deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals across the globe.
Lenovo ThinkShutter
Introducing ThinkShutter on our ThinkPad laptops was our answer to a common customer concern: webcam privacy. We realized that a simple analog solution could eliminate the privacy concerns of being watched through a hacked webcam. This innovative feature underscores Lenovo’s commitment to purposeful design.
Unexpected
How we communicate
“Unexpected” means we don’t look or sound like anyone else in our category. We’re inclusive and curious, and we seek out the undiscovered.
Within our personality, “unexpected” means:
- Distinct from category
- Elements that surprise and delight
- Benefits in action

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold redefines the business laptop category. It is the world’s first fully functional foldable PC. It folds flat for easy travel yet unfolds into a powerful laptop or a spacious tablet. Powerful – check, versatile – check, and productive – check. It’s the future of form and functionality.
F1® Trophy
As the Title Sponsor of the FORMULA 1, Lenovo introduced ‘the world’s first kiss-activated trophy’ in 2023, which lights up with the winner’s national flag colors when kissed – thus elevating the F1 tradition of kissing trophies on the podium by infusing smarter technology into it. Innovation took center stage again at the F1 Chinese Grand Prix 2024 as we gave the laurel wreath tradition a twist with technology and embedded the trophy with a proximity sensor, thus lighting it up when lifted overhead or placed around the driver’s neck.
Global #1 supercomputer provider
Did you know that for over five years, Lenovo has dominated the TOP500 list as the world’s leading provider of supercomputers? Additionally, sitting atop the Green500 list as the world’s most energy efficient supercomputer is Flatiron Institute’s Henri system, built on Lenovo technology.
Brave
How we communicate
“Brave” means we’re confident in our point of view and we communicate with optimism and honesty. We’re unafraid of straight talk and don’t hide behind jargon.
For Lenovo, “brave” means:
- Forging the future
- Being courageous about diversity
- Having passion and confidence in our work
- Expressing a point of view
Brave in action
Low Temperature Solder (LTS) technology
Lenovo decided to offer its breakthrough Low Temperature Solder process used in PC manufacturing for use on an industry-wide basis free of charge. The new process aimed to improve heat management, reduce power consumption and cut carbon emissions by 35%. This shows our commitment to supporting a transition to a lower carbon economy.
Lenovo Product Diversity Office (PDO)
At Lenovo, we are about ensuring that technology is accessible and empowering for everyone. Which is why our Product Diversity Office (PDO) focuses on embedding inclusivity principles into every stage of product design and product development process. PDO’s “Diversity by Design” process ensures diverse teams are represented across product planning and execution phases.
SBTi goals for net-zero
Lenovo is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as validated by SBTi. As an early adopter of science-based targets, we’ve set near-term goals for 2030, approved by SBTi in 2020. Proudly chosen to road test the pioneering Net-Zero Standard with SBTi and other leaders, we’re dedicated to driving sustainable change. Additionally, Lenovo has earned accolades, including Gartner’s Top 25 Global Supply Chain and Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies, and was recognized for leadership in Climate Change and Water Security by CDP.
